Frequently Asked Questions

I am looking for a photographer, what happens next?

Feel free to get in touch however you wish, and I’ll let you know if I’m available at the right time. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have, even if you’re not ready to commit to a photographer yet. And I’ll ask you about anything I need to know.

What prices do you charge?

Event photography starts from £450, and wedding photography from £950. But I’m happy to tailor my prices to meet your needs.

Do you have transport?

Yes. I have travelled across the UK to work on commission and in fact I enjoy the opportunity to visit new places!

What can I do with my images?

I’m happy for you to print and share your images however you wish. But there are only a few exceptions. I would ask you not to:

  • Sell images
  • Enter images into competitions
  • Use images to advertise a third party’s products or services

For private clients, I grant what’s called an ongoing, non-exclusive “licence of personal use” for your images. For business clients, just let me know how you’re going to use the images and I’ll give you whatever fixed-term license you need – we’ll agree on this before we start.

Copyright for all the images remains with me – this is standard practice. Without that I couldn’t showcase my own work!

How will I receive my photographs?

You will receive your photographs on USB stick. I will also set you up with a password-protected online gallery of your images, from which you can download any photographs straight onto your computer. This is an easy way of sharing your photos with anyone you choose.

You’ll have a large high-resolution image, and a small low-resolution image for each photograph. The small size images are what you’ll need for sharing images on social media or email. The large images are for everything else, such as printing.

When will I receive my photographs?

Some people have three or four time critical images that need to be shared on social media after the event. Let me know if this is the case, and I’ll endeavour to get you the images within 24 hours.

Other than this, due to variations in commissions and in my schedule, I am unable to give you an exact timeframe. Generally speaking, it might take me about 2-3 weeks to carefully process your images. I believe in quality over speed.

Are my photographs safe?

My main camera safely backs up all images to a second memory-card as I shoot. I also have a backup camera, backup lenses and flash units, backup batteries, pretty much backup everything – allowing me to keep shooting in the unlikely event of an equipment malfunction.

Once shooting is complete, images are backed up on computer, external hard drive kept in a different location, and cloud drive – not to mention your personal online gallery, meaning they’re very safe and secure.

I generally keep my images backed up as long as reasonably possible, so even if you lose your own USB stick, just let me know and I’ll replace them for you if I can.

Are you insured?

Yes, I am fully insured and so is my equipment.
